AHHHHHH...THE FOOD
The cuisine of Europe is one of the great joys of traveling there. Food and wine is unique in every region of your journey.
A tour on The Continent without really savoring each country's cooking, wine and cheese would not be a complete travel experience. With Your Man in Europe, we do everything possible to introduce you to the best and most typical foods of each region, and, of course the local beers or wines.
Your guide offers a wealth of information, so you can be well-informed about local, regional, and national specialties.
No large group tour can offer you such a pleasurable approach to the delights of European cuisine.
Except as specifically excluded, all Your Man in Europe tours include most meals with beverages, including selected wines or beers at dinner. Every one of our travelers enjoy:
- · Either a Continental, buffet-style, or hot cooked breakfast every day
- · Imaginative luncheon picnics ranging from tasty sandwiches on great local bread to gourmet specialties. With some lunches, wine is available in addition to the usual beverages. Meals in Europe are leisurely affairs that sometimes go on for hours. At lunchtime we try to make the meals reasonably quick - but unhurried - to allow for more daylight activities and sight-seeing. When time permits, lunches will be at charming cafes or bistros in scenic settings
- · Dinners in specially-selected restaurants normally include 3-course fixed-price menus, which always have great entrée choices. Most dinners include one or more (sometimes several more!) glasses of the locally-produced wines. Non-alcoholic beverages are included for those who prefer them. Tap water or bottled water is usually furnished as well.
A la carte selections, specialized diet requirements, menu upgrades, before- dinner cocktails, premium vintage wines, apéritifs, and after-dinner coffees usually incur additional cost, and will be the client's responsibility.
One last note - and this is important. Leave that diet at home! (as much as possible). Europe is not the place to struggle with The South Beach Diet. Take a vacation from the guilt. Eat as Europeans do. Find out for yourself "why French women don't get fat." (Or do they? Hmmmm) You're going to exercise most of the calories away anyhow. You'll never forgive yourself if you pass up the fabulous foods and wines of Europe!
